StuMo's national winter conference. Four days in Dallas, Texas. 2,500+ college students from across all StuMo campuses hearing 15+ messages on how to walk with God and make disciples.
SMC 2027 runs January 3–6, 2027 at the Comerica Center outside Dallas, Texas. Students arrive from StuMo campuses across the country — packed buses, full vans, red-eye flights — and spend four days deep in worship, teaching, community, and conversations about Jesus.
This year's theme is REAL — Jesus inviting students out of the curated, performance-driven life the algorithm rewards, and into something authentic. Real purpose. Real freedom. Real joy. Not the life the influencers say you should have, but the life you were created to experience.
We recruit hard to this conference because the return on investment is enormous. Students experience real Christian community (often for the first time), hear the gospel clearly, get challenged on the specific topics they've been wrestling with privately, and almost every year, students come to Christ. Many of the testimonies in our newsletters trace back to a single weekend at SMC.
Ryzun — one of our Arizona students, raised in Shintoism, fluent in Japanese — befriended three Japanese foreign exchange students at UofA. He brought them over for dinner, loved them well, and shared Christ with them.
One of them, Shuma, came to SMC. He was hungry for God but couldn't yet bring himself to believe in the resurrection of Christ. He went home to Tokyo with the question still open.
Months later, back in Japan, Shuma got connected with the StuMo Tokyo team — who picked up exactly where the conversation had left off. Shuma was baptized. He's now been back in Japan for a year, fully given his life to Christ, and making disciples among his people.
